Safe Sanctuaries Training

Safe Sanctuaries Training is a one-day training to equip leaders to pastor and care well for individuals who have experienced the trauma of abuse. This training helps you to know how to come alongside and advocate for healing, as well as foster a supportive environment for survivors.
This training has been offered by the ECC at Gather and Midwinter the past couple of years. We now have a couple of trainers in our conference: Debbie Taylor, retired LMFT and Mending the Soul Ministry Coordinator for the conference and Rev. Heather McDaniel, associate pastor at Bremerton UMC.
Every congregation needs trained individuals who can listen well and know the resources available to support healing.
We are offering our first conference-sponsored training this month. I encourage you to attend this training and/or find a person or persons in your congregation who might become the point person in your community for this important equipping and caring ministry.

- Monroe Covenant Church in Monroe, WA
- $20 includes materials and lunch
- Spanish speakers are welcome.
