Erik Cave
Director of NextGen Ministries
Biography:
Erik Cave serves the Pacific Northwest Conference as the Director of NextGen Ministries and the ECC as the Point Person for the Interim Youth Ministry Team. In this capacity, he supports children, youth, and young adult ministry as well as coordinating communications. He has 30 years of pastoral ministry experience most recently as the Associate Pastor of Youth at First Covenant Church in Portland, OR. He is ordained in the Evangelical Covenant Church and graduated from George Fox Seminary with a Masters in Spiritual Formation. Erik lives in Portland with his wife, Melanie. His son, Ducan, daughter-in-law, Shelby, and daughter, Ella all live, work, and attend OSU in Corvallis. In his free time, Erik enjoys riding on two wheels, paddle boarding, and a good sci-fi movie or video game.
Responsibilities:
Erik is responsible for serving PacNWC children, youth, and young adult ministries and leaders. In this capacity, he works toward helping ministry leaders be known, connected, and resourced through cluster groups, coaching, and cohorts. Erik works with teams to create retreats for ministry leaders, middle school students, high school students, and young adults. He also helps young adults connect through the Acts29 discipleship school.
As Coordinator of Communications Erik is responsible for our website, newsletter, and social media. Through these outlets, he highlights our mission priorities by telling the story of the PacNWC from the perspective of lay people, churches, pastors, and events.
Erik is passionate about connecting young people to the larger ministry of our churches, developing young leaders, and partnering with parents.
Interests:
Erik loves to go on adventures. This includes riding his motorcycle, bicycle, paddle board and snowboard. He also loves to hike in the woods, explore a new city, and try new possibilities with his family. On a rainy day you will find Erik playing board games, watching a Star Wars movie, or playing Xbox.
