Every year, natural disasters impact thousands of people around the world. The Evangelical Covenant Church and the Pacific Northwest Conference are very committed to recruiting volunteers for the work of disaster recovery. When your heart is for service and helping in displaced communities, you are a part of a larger mission. You are continuing the work of those who went before you as well as preparing the way for those who will follow. Younger generations are learning from your servant’s example. Consider joining with local churches for group missions.

Ministry Objectives:

•  Recruit and coordinate volunteers of all ages

•  Provide opportunities to serve after domestic disasters

•  Increase shared mission in the conference

•  Share the love of Christ with those devastated by disasters

Be prepared to go by being vetted and ready with a background check with MERGE. Understanding that you are needed NOT “IF” but “WHEN”.

Long Term Recovery/Reconstruction:

Upon disaster, begin to discuss involvement. Look at the location and plan. Ask, “What can I do?”
