This is an interview with Erik Cave, coordinator of communications and family ministries with the PacNWC. A little longer than our usual Big 5 interviews, this one focuses on the work Erik has been doing with and for young adults in our conference. The purpose is to help all of us better understand “Emerge”. It includes: why the conference is focusing on young adults; what has or hasn’t worked so far; and a description of future plans for Emerge.
Pastor Mike is the new lead pastor of Suburban Christian Church in Corvallis, OR. He is ordained in the ECC, though currently serving a non-Covenant Church. This was my first meeting with him and I wanted to introduce him to our conference. Side note, since recording this interview, Mike and his family closed on a house in Corvallis and are moving in this month.
In March I met with Ken Carlson, retired Covenant pastor and previous Superintendent of the Midwest Conference. Over coffee in McMinnville, OR, Ken and I brainstormed some ways of connecting our PacNWC retired clergy. And, I enjoyed hearing how a retired pastor answers the Big 5.
Brian is the lead pastor of River Ridge Covenant Church in Lacey, WA.
Mat is the planting pastor of St. Thomas Covenant Church in Salem, OR. He will soon be Ordained to Word and Sacrament at the upcoming Evangelical Covenant Church Annual Meeting in June 2017.
Sarah serves as pastor of family ministry at First Covenant Church, Portland and is the chair of the ministerial association executive committee.
In this PacCast series, Dawn Taloyo, director of pastoral and congregational health with the PacNWC, interviews conference pastors asking them to respond to the same five questions. This is an opportunity to get to know our colleagues/conference pastors better and know how to pray for them. Listen to Dawn’s introduction to the series first, and then check out the latest episode below or search older episodes in Archives.
